Renai Medicity hospital received Green OT certification from the Bureau Veritas Certification India Pvt Ltd, a global certification agency. The certificate recognizes Renai Medicity’s compliance to the highest quality and safety parameters for patients and healthcare workers in its operation theatres. It is also a testament of its stringent adherence to environment friendly and safe operation theatre practices. The certificate is being offered by Bureau Veritas, a global leader in testing, inspection and certification in association with Abbott, a multi-hospital stakeholder. Accreditation from the foundation is offered after the institution adopts guidelines and protocols set in this regard. In order to restrict environmental degradation and ensure minimal surgery related complications, an audit is then conducted that focuses on five elements – the hospital’s commitment towards optimum patient and environment friendly OT designs, pre-operative activities, during operations and post-operative activities as well as training and awareness among hospital staff. This certification requires a collaborative effort from various departments of the hospital including quality, infection control, biomedical, anaesthesia etc. The accreditation process bring predictability to service standards as certification is a reassurance for patients regarding safe and healthy practices being followed inside operating rooms. In a function conducted at Renai Medicity hospital on 27.12.2016, Renai Medicity’s Medical Director Dr. Krishnanunni Polakulath, Managing Director Krishnadas Polakulath, General Manager Sijo V Joseph along with other officials received the certification from Mr. Vivek Nair, Associate Director-Clinical Division (Abbott India). Mr. Vinod Panicker, Area Manager – Bureau Veritas also attended the function.
