Yes. Renai Medicity offers outpatient and inpatient facilities. Outpatient consultations are available for more than 40 specialties of modern medicine. Outpatient and inpatient services are also available for Ayurveda.
- Do you have 24 hour emergency services?
Renai Medicity has first of its kind in Kerala 24×7 Accident & Emergency care unit that can handle any emergency need. State-of-the-art chest pain unit, acute stroke unit and most modern emergency intensive care unit are attached to our A&E that is manned round the clock by emergency medicine specialists and other experts.
- How can I consult a doctor without appointment?
You can simply walk in and get yourself registered in our main reception located at the ground floor. This registration is valid for a period of one year. You need to fill out the registration slip. Your details will be entered in to our system and will be given a Renai ID card. After making the payment for consultation and registration, you will be then directed to the OP floor. If you are already a registered patient, you need to show your Renai ID card in the re-visit counter at the main reception located at the ground floor. You may need to pay the consultation charges.
- Can I make prior appointments for outpatient consultations?
Prior appointments are available for many specialists. You can call our appointment number + 91 484 2880288. You can also request for an appointment through this website. All appointment requests made through the website and e mail are subject to confirmation mail sent against it.
- How do I get an appointment for health check up?

- Can I fill out any of the required paperwork before I get to the hospital?
You can use the forms given under the ‘downloads’ of this website. What should I bring when I come as an outpatient? Renai ID card (if it is not your first visit), valid photo identification card such as electoral card, driving license etc.
- What will happen in the OP floor?
Our staff will direct you to one of the screening rooms, where your current health information will be screened like temperature, BP, BMI etc. The same will be entered in to our system so that your doctor can view the same. You will be then guided to your consultant’s OP room where you can wait for your turn. OP floor has excellent waiting area, kids play area and snacks bar.
- How long should I need to wait in front of the OP?
We understand the value of time and strive to serve all our patients as quickly as possible. However, the waiting time cannot be guaranteed since it depends on many factors such as the number of patients registered for the day prior to you, may be you were not present when your number was called, emergency cases may be given priority, your doctor may have to attend an emergency in the accident and emergency room, ICU or post operative ward. In all such situation, we appreciate your patience.
- What should I do after doctor consultation?
If you have been advised to take medicines: You may go to the pharmacy and show your Renai ID card. The prescription by your doctor is now available in the pharmacy system. You can collect your medicine after making payments. If you have been advised to undergo some tests: You can show your Renai ID card in the OP billing counter and make the payment for your tests. You may be then directed to sample collection centre or radiology rooms. You can show your Renai ID card and undergo the test. Your results would be available in your doctor’s computer system. You will be told how long it would take for the results. If you wish to see the doctor again, you will be given priority. Please inform the OP nurse and wait in the OP waiting area.
- I have been asked to come for a follow up visit?
You may approach the reception and make an appointment for your next visit. Consultation fees will be charged as per the norms.
- Where do I call to find out the condition of my friend/relative admitted in Renai Medicity?
You can call our main number + 91 484 2880000. We will connect you to the patient private room to speak to the patient/bystander. As per our privacy policy, our staff are not allowed to divulge patient information to anyone.
- How can I contact a patient in the intensive care unit/post surgery rooms?
Intensive care units/ post surgery rooms have no telephone connections for the use of patients. Intensive care unit/post surgery rooms nurses will relay information to bystanders only. You may reach the bystander over his/her personal phone or reach them through the hospital EPABX in case they are still retaining private rooms.
- I have been asked by the doctor to get admitted. What to do?
Your doctor will give you an admission slip. You or the person accompanying you may please approach the desk handling admission, discharge and transfers located near the main reception in the ground floor. You will be given all the information and assistance for your admission. You will need to fill in the details on inpatient admission form, sign certain consent forms and make advance deposits.
- Where will I get admitted?
Depending on your condition, you may be admitted to day care unit, room or ICU.
- What are the types of accommodation options available?
The types of accommodation options include general ward, semi private rooms (A/C & Non A/C), private room (A/C & Non A/C), private AC with balcony, semi deluxe room, semi deluxe room with balcony, deluxe room, deluxe room with balcony, executive room, deluxe executive, suite and deluxe suite.
- Will I get my choice of room?
Every effort will be made to provide you with the room type that you have requested. Please note, however, that room assignments are based on bed availability and medical necessity of our patients.
- What if I wish to get admitted for my surgery after few days?
You can approach the ADT desk and make your surgery booking after making necessary advance deposits. Confirmed booking for your desired bed category in advance would not be possible. We would try our best to give you a priority but it is subject to availability on the day of the admission.
- What all items should I carry when I come to get admitted?
Renai ID card, a list of your current medications including the name, dosage and frequency, details of vitamin or herbal supplements you are taking, personal toiletries, such as shampoo, toothpaste and toothbrush (provided in select category rooms), bathrobe and slippers, nightgowns/paijamas, hairbrush and comb, shaving kit, glasses/contact lenses (if applicable), any mobility aids you use, such as a walking stick or frame.
- What all things I should not carry?
Hair dryer, electric shaver, radio or other electrical appliances, jewellery or other valuables. Hospital is a plastic free zone. Please do not bring plastic items including carry bags. Please do not bring any food. Outside food is not allowed
- Do you have tie up with my insurance/TPA?
Renai Medicity has tie up with most of the insurance/TPA for cashless facility. When cashless facility is not available, the hospital will assist you to get the benefits of your insurance coverage through reimbursements. - Should I need to contact insurance desk on arrival itself?
Yes. If you have insurance coverage, you must contact the insurance desk located at the fourth floor at the time of admission itself. You will need to provide your insurance card and some other details there.
- Should I make an advance deposit?
Yes, in all cases an advance will be collected which would be adjusted to your bills from time to time. The hospital would also request you to make additional interim advances during the course of your stay or surgery.
- What are the patient visiting hours?
General visiting hours of Renai Medicity are 0630 Hrs to 0830 Hrs, 1230 Hrs 1430 Hrs, 1730 Hrs to 2030 Hrs. ICU visitation hours are 0800 Hrs to 0900 Hrs and 1700 Hrs to 1800 Hrs.
- Why do I need to have a visitor pass?
We require everyone entering the hospital to identify themselves and their destination within the hospital to provide a safer environment for our patients, visitors and staff.

- How many visitors are allowed at a time?

- Are children allowed to visit patients?
Even though it is not advisable to bring children for hospital visits, they may visit patients provided they are supervised by an adult at all times and in good health.
- May I take flowers or gifts to a patient?
Flowers and gifts are available in the hospital shops. You can bring it from outside as well. Flowers are not allowed in general wards, ICU’s and post operative wards.
- Can I get information about the duration and cost of treatment in advance?
You will be briefed about your stay, facilities and the approximate expected cost of treatment by our financial counselling team at the patient support service desk located near the main reception in the ground floor. All your queries can be cleared before getting admitted. For knowing the bill amounts during your hospitalisation, kindly contact the IP billing desk located at fourth floor.
- Will I need to pay more than the expected cost explained to me?
The estimate given during financial counselling helps you to only get a tentative idea of expenses required for the treatment or surgery in an average condition. Actual expenses could vary as per the condition of the patient, unexpected complications, additional medicines, stay and investigations required etc. Full payment of the actual bill is required to be paid.
- Who do I ask if I have a question about my hospital bill?
You may contact the billing counter located at the fourth floor.
- How can I get birth/death certificates?
Hospital does not issue birth certificates. But the birth/death registration kiosk located at ground floor will register all the births/deaths occurring in the hospital online with the Corporation authority. You need to contact the Health information management department located at the ground floor and fill out a form. Once it is submitted online, you need to collect the same from the corporation’s office. You will receive sms alerts regarding the status from the corporation office.
- Can I get my lab results over the phone?
No. As per the privacy policy, reports will not be explained over telephone. If you are unable to come to the hospital, it could be e mailed to your registered e mail id with us. However, you can talk to your doctor who may release the lab results over the phone if the results are being made available as part of your treatment episode in Renai Medicity.
- How can I get the copy of my radiology report?
Please contact the Health information management department located at the ground floor.
- Why am I always asked to show my Renai ID card?
Renai Medicity is a paper free hospital. All your information are available in our service points through our hospital information system. Your Renai ID card has a unique number and a bar code to identify you. As part of our safety practices, our staff must confirm your identity each time they offer you any service. There could be multiple persons in your name in our system. Verifying and scanning your Renai ID each time is hence very much essential in our practice.
- I lost my Renai ID card. What to do now?
You need to contact the main reception. You will be asked to furnish certain details and a duplicate card will be issued. Kindly note that the duplicate card will be issued on additional cost.
- Can I bring food from home?
No. Food from outside may be a source of spreading infection and hence strictly prohibited in the hospital. Patient food will be planned by the dieticians as per the doctor’s instructions. On the basis of the instructions and patient food preferences, they draw the food plan for the patient. There are restaurants as well as room service available for bystanders and visitors.
- What if I have a suggestion or need to voice a complaint?
One of our key values is continuous improvement. We take your opinion and feedback extremely serious. You may fill in the patient feedback form or write us to feedback@renaimedicity.org. You may voice a complaint to the patient support services manager or to the nurse manager. You can also directly speak with the PRO at reception for more detailed or specific feedback or complaint. If you do not get a proper response or have a more serious complaint to lodge, you can escalate it to general manager and even up to medical or managing directors.
- Where can I park my vehicle?
Renai Medicity has ample parking facilities. You are advised to park your vehicles at designated vehicle parking bays only. Doorways, grass areas, emergency access areas are strictly no parking areas. All the cars are expected to be driven away from the porch once it leaves the patients or the visitors at the hospital doors. Parking will be at owner’s risk.
- Do I need to have a bystander with me when I am admitted in the hospital?
Yes. As per the hospital policy, we do not admit patients without a bystander.
- Are there any rules with regard to attendant bystander in Renai Medicity?
Only one attendant bystander is allowed to stay with a patient at any point of time. The bystander should have with him a valid pass (provided at the time of admission) at all times for security reasons. Only one bystander is allowed to stay with the patient during the night. The bystander card has to be handed over to the billing department at discharge. There is waiting area facility available for the bystander when patient is transferred to the ICU. Room should be vacated in order to give priority for the next waiting patient. Attender can avail the facility of an additional room on request (subject to availability) at the reception on payment of the room charges.
- Where can I eat or shop in Renai Medicity?
There are restaurants and snack bars available in Renai Medicity at ground and first floor. In addition to this, we provide room service also. The boutique located at the entrance sells toiletries, newspapers, stationery items, books, magazines, gift items and some basic grocery items. Cell phone recharge coupons, sanitary napkins, tissue paper box, cosmetics, flowers, gift items, products for women, kids and newborns, dental care items and the likes are also available.
- Do you provide ambulance services?
Yes. Renai Medicity has well equipped ambulances that are deployed to transfer bedridden or trauma patients.
- Do you have mortuary facility?
Mortuary is located at the backside building of the hospital where a small parking area is also provided.
- Is it possible to consult the doctor on the basis of reports without the physical presence of the patient?
We advise the presence of patient all the time as we can provide you the accurate diagnosis and further treatment plan on physical evaluation only. But in exceptional cases, when the patient is away, you can get a preliminary opinion and advice. Consultation fees will be charged as per the norms.
- What is the discharge procedure?
The discharge formalities would be commenced once your doctor writes the discharge advice. We will give a detailed discharge summary signed by the respective doctors and a nurse will brief the patient and the bystander on the care needed at home. A schedule for the next consultations would also be given to the patient.
- How long would it take for me to leave the hospital after discharge?
Once the doctor gives instructions to discharge, the formalities and arrangements for the patients to leave the hospital would require 1 to 3 hours. In very rare eventualities, it can take even more time. If you are covered under insurance for cashless facility, you would need to wait until the final approval from your insurance company is received. You will be given a detailed final bill. All balances are due and payable in full at the time of discharge.
- What are the modes of payment options?
You can make the payment through cash, credit/debit card, foreign currency (if you are a foreign national), demand draft or online bank transfer into the hospital account. Personal cheques are not accepted.
- Do you arrange transportation facility?
Please contact the hospital’s travel desk for taxi arrangements.
- Is there an ATM in your hospital?
Yes. ATM of federal bank is situated inside the hospital in ground floor.
- Do you take back unused medicines/consumables?

Medicines bought from our pharmacy as an outpatient will be taken back only if it is not opened, against the bill and within 3 months from the date of purchase. Fridge items will not be taken back.
